Meet Jen Blair

Founded in 2016, Under the Jenfluence has grown from a beer enthusiast’s blog documenting her beer studies to a beer brand that encompasses in-person and virtual learning, personal empowerment, and community support.
Creator and CEO Jen Blair is a Master Cicerone and Master BJCP Beer Judge - the only woman worldwide to hold the double Master distinction. Jen’s journey into beer began with her older sister suggesting she try a craft beer instead of the macro beer she usually drank. Over the years, Jen sought out as many different beers as she could.
In 2013, Jen learned to homebrew and became active in her local and national homebrewing communities, serving in several leadership roles, including as President of the Carolina BrewMasters and a member of the American Homebrewers Association Governing Committee.
Jen created Under the Jenfluence as a way to document her beer journey and to make beer education more accessible. In 2021, Jen introduced courses to Under the Jenfluence, including a BJCP beer judge prep course, a beer judging course, and Aroma: Explore the Wheel.
Jen’s work in making the beer industry more inclusive has been recognized by media such as USA Today, Wine Enthusiast, Imbibe, VinePair, and Atlanta Magazine. Jen strives to deliver educational content about beer and sensory in an easy-to-understand, approachable, and entertaining way. Drawing from her legal background, Jen researches across industries and interests to bring context to beer and sensory for all levels of beer enthusiasts.
When she’s not thinking, learning, or writing about beer, Jen enjoys getting carried away with new ideas, reading from and adding to her ever-growing TBR pile, and quoting RuPaul’s Drag Race. She is located in Atlanta, but grew up in southwest Missouri.
Jen graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama with a B.S.B.A. with double majors in economics and management. She has a Juris Doctorate and is a graduate of the prestigious University of California-Davis Applied Sensory and Consumer Science program. Jen became the twenty-fifth person worldwide to earn her Master Cicerone® and one of only five women.
