Saladin Box

A pneumatic germination vessel for malting.

The Saladin Box design is rectangular, about 24-32 inches deep, and can be up to 164 feet long.

Because germinating rootlets would get tangled together without being turned, a Saladin box also features a system of screw turners. The screws raise the grain from the bottom of the bed to the top. The screws are mounted on a moving crossbar that goes from one end of the box to the other about 2-3 times a day.
