Ale-Wife
An English term from when it was the woman's responsibility to make sure the men of her house were well-supplied with beer. Ale-wife eventually came to apply to women who brewed in ale houses once commercial brewing started to grow.
One of the more famous ale-wives is Eleanor Rumming, who was introduced in a poem by John Skelton, She was purported to have a "hideous visage" but wonderful "noppy ale." You can listen to "The Tunning of Eleanor Rumming" in the video below:
